Holistic Nutrition *Online Course*
February 19 at 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until April 15, 2020
You are what you eat. Whether looked at from a traditional Eastern point of view or that of conventional Western thought, it is widely recognized that the food you eat plays an important role in the self-care puzzle. This course offers an overview of nutrients as the building blocks of physical health, and takes a critical look at what’s “good” and what’s “bad” according to current standards. Different diets will be discussed to provide an understanding of the mainstream guidelines and a framework from which to better evaluate food choices. The digestive tract will be reviewed in terms of how it works (physiologically & symbolically) and the far-reaching impact of what happens to it under stress. This course is as suitable for the student of natural therapies as for anyone curious about how food and their body fit together.
