Eastern and Western Cupping Techniques

The Cupping Therapy course is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the ancient therapeutic technique of cupping. This course explores cupping therapy’s theory, techniques, and practical applications, allowing participants to effectively integrate this modality into their practice.

Through a combination of theoretical instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants will learn about the history and principles of cupping therapy. They will explore the different types of cups used, including silicone, glass, and plastic, and become proficient in various cupping techniques such as stationary, sliding, and flash cupping.

The course will cover the physiological and therapeutic effects of cupping, including its ability to increase blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, stimulate the lymphatic system, and promote deep relaxation. Participants will learn to assess clients’ needs and incorporate cupping therapy into comprehensive treatment plans, considering contraindications and precautions.

Participants will develop essential skills in cupping application, including proper cup placement, manipulation, and removal techniques. They will also learn to identify and respond to common client reactions and adapt cupping therapy based on individual client needs and preferences.

Practical training will be a significant component of the course, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience under the guidance and supervision of experienced instructors. They can practice cupping techniques on fellow participants, integrating feedback and refining their skills.

By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and proficiency to incorporate cupping therapy confidently into their practice. Using this ancient and highly beneficial therapeutic modality, they will be able to effectively address a range of client concerns, such as pain management, muscular tension, sports injuries, and stress-related conditions.

We will look at Holistic placement using Acupressure points (TCM), Marma points (Ayurveda), and Hyjama Points (Islamic), as well as specific treatment plans for different injuries through the body.

NEW LOCATION

Great news from Ecole Setsuko! We’re expanding and adding an exciting new location on the West Island of Montreal while keeping our beloved NDG school going strong. This new spot is bigger, which means more space for all our students, awesome new workshops, and the opportunity to offer diplomas like Swedish Massage and Shiatsu more frequently. 🙌

We’re getting our new location ready and can’t wait to share photos with you in the coming week. To celebrate, we’re hosting an open house to welcome our students and introduce ourselves to our new neighbours. We’re all about community and providing quality education, just like we’ve been doing in NDG for almost 20 years.
Stay tuned for the open house dates; we’ll announce them as soon as we’re all set! We’re super excited about this new chapter and looking forward to meeting many new students.

Find us at the new address: 1564 Chem. Herron Suite 208, Dorval, QC H9S 1B7. It’s super convenient – right beside Pine Beach Train Station, a mere 30-second walk from the train, and the 211 bus stop is right in front of us! Plus, we’re just off Highway 20 with plenty of parking available.

We can’t wait to embark on this adventure with you all!
