Introduction to Tuina Massage with Craig Cormack
Join us for an immersive weekend course designed to introduce you to the foundational concepts of Tuina massage, a key component of Chinese Medicine. You’ll learn about the significance of Tuina within the broader framework of Chinese Medicine, including an understanding of Qi, the meridian system, and how Tuina acts as a form of “medical gymnastics” to benefit your clients.
Day 1: Foundations and Techniques
– Introduction to Tuina’s role in Chinese Medicine
– Basic concepts of Qi and the meridian system
– Draping techniques for client comfort
– Hands-on practice of effleurage and petrissage on the back of the body
Day 2: Advanced Techniques and Applications
– Understanding and activating the bladder meridian through effleurage, petrissage, and percussive techniques
– Hand and finger care exercises for practitioners
– Introduction to basic tai chi circles (abdominal massage)
– Fundamentals of foot and hand massage
By the end of this weekend course, you will be equipped with the skills to perform a basic full-body massage using essential Tuina techniques, including effleurage, petrissage, and percussive methods.
